On April 15th, we hosted an international EcoLingua workshop bringing together teachers and students from Balıkesir and Muğla (Türkiye), a high school from Romania, and a teacher team from the Netherlands.
The session began with a brief introduction to the EcoLingua project, highlighting key concepts such as sustainability, ecological awareness, and the role of gamification in English Language Teaching. Building on this foundation, participants explored how these elements can be integrated into meaningful classroom practices.
We then moved outdoors for a hands-on, gamified activity where mixed teams completed sustainability- and ecology-related tasks. This experience allowed participants to actively engage with environmental themes while collaborating across cultures and roles.
The workshop provided a practical demonstration of how gamification can enhance motivation, teamwork, and learning, while also promoting ecological awareness in ELT contexts.
We are pleased to have shared this experience with such a diverse group of participants and look forward to further collaborations within the EcoLingua project.
