Transnational Meeting in Burgos
The EcoLingua Curriculum: Digitally Enhanced Pedagogy for Integrating Environmental Issues into Language Teaching project held its transnational meeting at the University of Burgos, Spain, on 20–21 November 2025. The meeting took place at the Main Library (Second Floor) and brought together representatives from all partner institutions to reflect on the project’s achievements so far and plan the next steps.
The agenda focused on reviewing contributions from each partner, refining the management and reporting procedures, and coordinating the upcoming work packages related to gamification, digital content, and dissemination.

Meeting Highlights
Over two intensive days, partners first shared institutional updates, highlighting the development of pedagogical materials, local and international dissemination activities, and ongoing teacher and student engagement with EcoLingua outputs. This was followed by a comprehensive review of the interim progress report. Participants discussed project indicators, clarified reporting expectations, and refined internal management procedures, including deadlines, documentation, and evidence collection.
A substantial part of the meeting focused on Work Package 3 (Gamification and Digital Contents). Partners collaborated to develop the design of gamified scenarios and digital materials that incorporate environmental issues into language teaching. Responsibilities and timelines were agreed upon, with an emphasis on ensuring that all digital resources are both pedagogically sound and ecologically oriented.
The consortium also devoted time to Work Package 4 (Dissemination and Visibility). Partners reviewed their current dissemination activities, explored ways of reaching a wider audience of teachers and schools, and discussed strategies for strengthening the project’s online presence through the EcoLingua website, social media channels, and future multiplier events.
As part of the programme, the delegation met with the Vice-Chancellor of Research, Transfer and Innovation at the University of Burgos, where the project’s aims, activities, and expected impact were presented at institutional level. This meeting underlined the importance of EcoLingua in promoting sustainability-focused language education and reinforced the support of the host university.
The transnational meeting concluded with an agreement on the next steps for each work package, the refinement of internal calendars, and a tentative plan for the next partner meeting, subject to confirmation by all institutions.
Outcomes and Next Steps
By the end of the Burgos meeting, partners had:
- Clarified roles and responsibilities within WP3 and WP4
- Adjusted internal timelines based on progress report feedback
- Agreed on concrete actions for enhancing the project’s visibility and impact
- Strengthened their common vision for integrating gamification and sustainability into language teaching
We warmly thank the University of Burgos team for their hospitality and excellent organisation. The Burgos meeting marked an important step in aligning the consortium’s work and preparing the next phase of EcoLingua activities.
