๐ŸŽฎ How to Apply the Game โ€” Teacher Guide
1
Set up: Display this page on your projector or interactive whiteboard. Have real objects or pictures ready (plastic bottle, apple, t-shirt, toy, napkin, glass jarโ€ฆ) as physical prompts alongside the digital game.
2
Rubbish Bin Sort: Start with the Sort It! tab. Show each item card on screen. Ask: "Does this go in the rubbish bin?" Students call out Rubbish! or Keep it! Click to sort and check.
3
3 Rs Video: Go to the The 3 Rs tab. Click the link to open the YouTube video. After watching, use the Q&A accordion cards to check comprehension. Students answer aloud.
4
Match the 3 Rs: Move to the 3R Match tab. Show each object card. Class decides together: Reduce, Reuse, or Recycle? Click the correct button to place the item. Discuss each choice briefly.
5
Scoring: Award team points during the Sort and Match games. Use the scoreboard buttons โ€” +1 for correct answers. The winning team earns an "Eco Champion" title!
6
Can You Reuse It?: Use the Reuse! tab. Show each object. Ask: "I can reuse this as a ___!" Students brainstorm creative reuses. Click Reveal to see a model idea. Award bonus points for creative answers!
7
Keyword sidebars: Click any Ecology Word (left) or SDG (right) button at any time for a pop-up definition. Great for brief vocabulary extension moments during discussion.
8
Wrap-up: Use the Reflection tab for discussion prompts. Then display the Wrap-up tab for the creative homework task: turning rubbish into art!
โฑ Estimated game time: ~30 minutes. This digital game works best after students have some exposure to the 3 Rs concept (ideally through science class collaboration). The Sort and Match games can be played competitively in teams. The Reuse Challenge encourages creative language production using "I can reuse this as a ___!"
