On 16 January 2026, the Italian EcoLingua team launched the EcoLingua Seminar Series in collaboration with the Language Centre of the University of Rome Tor Vergata. The opening online session introduced school teachers, university staff, researchers and students to the project’s work on environmental issues in English language teaching.
Elisabetta Marino presented the project, followed by Giulia Magazzù’s overview of the national report on the integration of ecological themes into English language education. Giuseppe Capalbo and Maria Grazia Maglione then shared practical examples of green classroom activities for A2, B1 and B2 learners.

The programme moved from the project’s aims and research to examples of classroom practice, followed by time for questions and discussion. It offered participants a way to consider how environmental topics can support meaningful language learning at different proficiency levels.
The university’s sustainability division and the Italian association LEND also helped disseminate information about the opening session.
