Giulia Magazzù from the University of Rome Tor Vergata participated in DiscourseNet Conference 33, “Discourse, Sustainability, and Education: Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Climate and Communication”, held at the University of International Studies of Rome (UNINT) on 26–27 March 2026.
Her paper, “Political Iconoclasm: How Media Narratives Shape the Meaning of Climate Activism”, examined the relationship between media narratives and the interpretation of climate activism. The Italian team reports that the presentation also included a discussion of the EcoLingua project.

This contribution placed EcoLingua within an interdisciplinary academic setting concerned with climate communication, sustainability and education. It extended the project’s dissemination beyond teacher-training sessions to a forum exploring how environmental issues are represented and discussed.
