As part of the EcoLingua Project, coordinated by Balıkesir University Necatibey Faculty of Education, an interactive dissemination workshop was held in Tire, İzmir on 27 April with the participation of students and teachers from three different schools.
The event was hosted by Tire Belgin Atila Çallıoğlu Science High School. Asst. Prof. Mehmet Saraç and Asst. Prof. Serhat Güzel from the Department of Foreign Language Education, English Language Teaching Program, attended the workshop as speakers on behalf of our faculty.
Organized under the theme “Talking English: From Classroom to the World,” the workshop focused on the importance of learning English today, common challenges in language learning, communication anxiety, students’ experiences of using English beyond the classroom, and Erasmus+ opportunities. Throughout the event, students had the opportunity to reflect on their own language learning processes and develop ideas for using English more confidently through online interaction tools and collaborative discussion activities.
In line with EcoLingua’s approach, which brings together environmental awareness, digitalization, language teaching, and student engagement, this meeting aimed to enhance students’ motivation for foreign language learning and create a meaningful space for interaction between students and teachers around good practices.
We would like to thank Tire Belgin Atila Çallıoğlu Science High School for hosting the event, our contributing teachers for their valuable support, and all participating students for their active engagement.
